Catfish and the Bottlemen kick off their UK tour

We all remember the mania that Catfish fans went through when they announced their UK tour earlier this summer, with standing places selling out at most venues almost immediately. With the tour now already heading to Aberdeen, we take a look at what you can expect if you were quick enough to get a ticket.

Following the release of ‘Longshot’, the wait for the album began, and The Balance saw a mixing bowl of overjoyed and disappointed fans alike. The four piece have stuck to what they know, and the tour looks set to follow this pattern.

Newcastle saw a set list that looked a little something like this:
Longshot
Kathleen
Soundcheck
Pacifier
Twice
Fallout
Anything
Sidetrack
Encore
Homesick
Conversation
Overlap
Rango
Basically
2all
Outside
Hourglass
Fluctuate
7
Cocoon

With a mammoth 20 songs, there should be something for everyone. However, the group have taken off anthems such as ‘Tyrants’, which is arguably the best closing song they have, and replaced it with mediocre tracks such as ‘Encore’ and ‘2all’.

The list shows the band’s clear confidence in their third album, but it might have made more sense to make up the majority of the tracks played from the first two records, which fans originally fell in love with.

Regardless, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Liverpool, and Leeds are set to see crowds that are hopefully as rowdy and passionate as ever, with the classic Catfish tunes that you can’t help but sing along to.
