Front-man Casablancas has confirmed that the band will be releasing new music this year, in an address to their Brooklyn crowd on New Years Eve.
This will be the first body of work since 2013, marking seven years of musical absence by the American group. However, they have hinted that the new material is already recorded, so the wait now shouldn’t be too long.
The band have already debuted one of these new tracks, ‘Ode to the Mets’, live, and seem keen to have their fans hear the rest.
The NYE show continued with well-loved anthems, and the claim that the band were now ‘unfrozen’ and ready to return to music.
