Sea Girls Announce Debut Album and Autumn Tour

Sea Girls have been conquering the music scene with a blistering trajectory, coming out with consistently catchy and fiery singles since 2018. Rather than slow down, they’ve shaken up fans with the announcement of their emotionally charged, deeply personal, hook laden debut album Open Up Your Head – out August 14th on Polydor.

The LP features fourteen doses of memorable jagged guitar-pop brilliance, with a track-list that shows they’re not just compiling together past singles, but putting their song-writing talents to further use and giving us numerous new sparkling indie-anthems, with intriguing titles such as ‘Shake’ and ‘Lie To Me’.

‘Ready For More’ has already enjoyed a warm reception, with mainstream airplay and buzzing reviews on social media. It’s not hard to see why – the track never falters in build up or chorus, keeping any listener hooked on the high-powered, traipsing vocals and guitars.

With this album, frontman Henry Camamile positions himself as a genuine storyteller for his generation. We’re told that the album “is fit to burst with colourful melodies, guitar and synth hooks – an explosion of joyous indie rock held together to reflect Camamile’s darker songwriting on topics such as a previous traumatic head injury, the anxiety that ensued, and resulting adolescent vices.”

He confronts these topics with an open, honest tone, and the album becomes one of optimism and hope. With collaborative input from all members, the tracks are stunningly uplifting, ferociously reflective, delicately vulnerable, and most importantly – brutally honest.

With storytelling being reminiscent of a young Brandon Flowers Henry explains; “I
don’t buy all the love and flowers stuff. Real relationships fall apart, you get hurt and you
have to deal with it so you do what you have to do to get over it. I think what has saved me is
music.”

Taking their inspiration from debut albums by The Killers, The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys, much of their success is driven by their energetic live performances and uncanny ability to write adrenaline-heavy guitar anthems with songs like ‘Too Much Fun’ and ‘All I Want To Hear You Say’.
